I know we all love seeing our "Spotify Wrapped" at the end of the year to see how many times we listened to Taylor Swift (don't lie). But as clinic owners and practitioners, there is a "Wrapped" report that is infinitely more valuable for your bank account.
I just got my 2025 Year in Review from Jane, and it breaks down exactly what happened in my clinical life last year.
Data doesn't lie, but it does tell a story. Here is a look behind the curtain at my practice numbers and how you can use this data to optimize your 2026.
π The Report Card: My 2025 Jane
β
1. The "Grind" Number
I treated 212 clients over 1,544 appointments in 2025.
That is a lot of manual therapy. Seeing this number helps me calculate my "Average Revenue Per Visit" instantly. If you don't know your total volume, you can't accurately forecast your income.
2. The "Passive" Bookings (My Favorite Stat)
90 appointments were booked online outside of business hours.
If I didn't have online booking enabled, I likely would have lost those 90 appointments (or played phone tag for hours). That is revenue generated while I was sleeping or watching Netflix.
3. The "Leak" in the Bucket
My retention was 78% (clients returning for a second visit), which was actually down 9% from the previous year.
This is the most critical number on the page. It tells me I need to tighten up my "Day 1" communication and ensure patients understand their plan of care better in 2026.
π‘ 3 Ways to Use Jane to Earn More Time & Money: If you aren't using Jane yet (or aren't using it to its full potential), here is what you are missing:
Turn on Online Booking: As my data shows, clients want to book at 10 PM. Don't block them.
Analyze Your "Quietest Day": My report shows Monday was my quietest day. I can now either shorten my Monday shift to save energy or run a specific "Monday Promo" to fill those slots.
Automate the "Chase": Use Jane's "Return Visit Reminders" to fix that retention leak automatically. I actually send out several of them to clients who have fallen off.

We just talked about clinical efficiency, but what about the admin beast? If your inbox looks like a crime scene, this is for you.
Iβve been using Superhuman, the fastest email experience in the world, and they just launched Superhuman AI. It feels like having an Executive Assistant inside your inbox.
Why I use it:
It Writes For You: I can type three bullet points (e.g., "Thanks, confirmed for Tuesday, send invoice"), and Superhuman AI turns it into a perfectly written, professional email in seconds.
The "TL;DR" Button: Long email thread? One click gives me an Instant Summary of the conversation so I don't have to read 15 replies to get the point.
Auto-Split: It automatically sorts emails into "Important" and "Other," so I never miss a patient update or a referral.
If you want to save 1-2 hours a week on email (which you can use to treat more patients or just relax), you need to try this ππ½

π¨ The "Money Pit" Update: Paint Fumes & Deadlines
If you saw me this weekend and I looked a little delirious, it wasn't the flu this time, it was the paint fumes.
We spent the weekend painting all the trim and door (My knees may never forgive me). We wisely decided to leave the actual walls to a seasoned vet. Sometimes, the best financial decision you can make is knowing when to pay someone who is faster and better than you.
We are now in the final stretch to get this unit cash-flowing again by February 1st.
This Week: The new flooring is going down. (Goodbye, subfloor!).
Next Week: The shiny new washer and dryer arrive.
We are hoping to start showings immediately, likely next weekend. I often section a 2-3hr window to have all interested parties come through every 15-30 mins.
If we hit the Feb 1st deadline, this will be one of the fastest turnovers I've ever pulled off. If not... well, Iβll be eating the mortgage for another month.
Wish us luck (and steady hands for the touch-ups)!
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The 2026 Ultimate Toolkit: Start With a Bang
You can't build a house without a hammer, and you can't build wealth without the right tools. If you want to optimize your life this year, these are the exact apps/platforms I use daily.
π° For Your Money:
βLunch Money β The absolute best budgeting app for people who want control. It handles multi-currency, crypto, and manual tracking perfectly. (Use my link for a free month trial).
βBlossom Social β Stop guessing. See what other successful Canadian investors are buying (Stocks, ETFs, Bonds) and get educated in a fun way. (Use my link to join the community).
π₯ For Your Business (Practice Owners):
βHubdoc β Throw away your shoebox of receipts. Snap a photo, and it auto-extracts the data. Itβs magic for data aggregation.
βXero β The accounting software that talks to Hubdoc. This combo will save you dozens of hours (and accounting fees) this tax season.
βοΈ For Your Lifestyle:
βRoame.travel β Want to travel more in 2026? This is the ultimate tool for "Flight Hacking" and finding the best award redemptions.
βMileIQ β Stop manually logging your mileage log. This app runs in the background and tracks every drive for your tax deductions.
βοΈ For Your Health:
βAthletic Greensβ If you are tired of having a counter full of pill bottles. It is an all-in-one foundational nutrition drink that replaces your multivitamin, probiotics, and greens powder in a single scoop. It is NSF Certified for Sport, meaning it's rigorously tested for quality and free of banned substances, a standard we should demand. Itβs "nutritional insurance" that takes 30 seconds.
βCronometerβ Most tracking apps are just glorified calorie counters. Cronometer is a true nutrition tracker. You canβt improve what you donβt measure. Whether you are tracking for longevity, performance, or metabolic health, this app gives you the granular data you actually care about, and it syncs seamlessly with your Oura Ring, Apple Health, or Garmin.
π₯ For your Financial Goals
I built three free calculators to answer the biggest money questions I get asked. Stop guessing and run the math:
βThe "Debt vs. Invest" Calculator: The #1 question I get asked: "Should I pay off my loans or start investing?" This tool runs the math for you.
βThe Million Dollar Habit Calculator: See how small changes today (like bringing your lunch or cutting one subscription) compound into massive wealth.

Reader. I am officially back in Hamilton after an incredible weekend in Mexico. Swapping the beach for the February cold is always a harsh reality check, but we have a lot of ground to cover today. While I was away, the final receipts for the rental renovation came in (yup, more than I anticipated- I forgot how much this type of labour costs), the official inflation data dropped, and Iβve been testing some new automation tools that will save you serious money this year. π Market Update:...

Reader. It was a massive family affair last night in Toronto. We got the whole crew together: Katie's parents (Lesley and Randy), her brother Mike and his family (Ca and baby Orion). We were hosted by Julie's (Katie's other brother Matt's wife) parents Nelly and Dale. I ended up chatting with Dale for a solid hour (as one does after a few glasses of wine) about everything from politics to the economy. But one topic kept coming up: "Is the money actually going to be there when I need it?" Dale...
